AeSSA Aerospace Challenge
An annual event organised by the AeSSA in which students participate in an model aircraft competition.
In 2009 the AeSSA started these model aircraft competitions as a way to encourage interest in both aviation and aeronautics amongst, but not limited to, scholars and students. Ten successful events have since been held in either the Pretoria or Johannesburg area.
The date of the last competition was Sunday, 20 October 2024.

Career Days
From time to time the AeSSA and its partners are invited to participate in careers days at various higher education institutions.
University of Pretoria: Community-Based Projects
The AeSSA partners annually with the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology at the University of Pretoria as part of the compulsory module, Community-Based Project, for all undergraduates.
